"The hotel reminds me of the Overlook Hotel in The Shining with the old carpet, elevator and accents. That being said, the room and bathroom are charming on their own. During our stay, our AC unfortunately broke down at 11:30 PM. The staff happily moved us from 3rd to 10th flr and it was the best room!!! It had 2 windows and more real estate. Staff were excellent. "This is a great simple hotel - Nothing fancy but very clean and well appointed - Room was somewhat on the smaller side but very clean and comfortable - Continental breakfast and wine in the eve complentary! Staff were all very friendly and welcoming - If you dont want the hustle, bustle of a big chain hotel, i highly recommend The Carnegie Hotel!"

"The hotel, amenities, and staff were great. Also, close to public transportation. The street getting to the hotel is really "special", but it is New York (Bronx); not the hotel's fault. Regardless, there are some good food choices in the area. They also have private security personnel on duty in the evenings. I could stay there again."
