"This is obviously a budget hotel now. The house itself was once a very grand house and it has a fascinating history for sure. The views are good and our room was basic and clean, as well as warm. The bed in our room (56) had not been put together properly though, so there was a metal ridge down the centre that was raised up too high and should have been placed lower. Our main issue though was that we heard loud voices at around 4am. Men were walking around the corridors of the hotel and talking...

The food, both dinner and breakfast were superb ( the sea bass at dinner was delicious and the black pudding was to die for!) The room was immaculate and beautiful (we stayed in the Oak Suite).
