Excellent Service and a very professional and courteous staff. We had forgotten our Kindle and the staff was prompt to call us and inform us that they had found the item!! This historic hotel is absolutely gorgeous, has character and is very welcoming. You will not be disappointed in any manner during your stay. We will definitely come back.

The staff are always so professional and helpful. The bartenders on the hotel side are attentive, knowledgable and charming.

We had a leak in the room from all Of the rain. Nothing was offered. No discount. No free drinks or even future discount.

Joann - Thank you for staying with us and for the feedback. I sincerely apologize for the leak above the entrance door during your stay. I thank you for letting my maintenance department inspect the leak while you were here. It was fixed the next day. I am sorry I could not offer a discount, but I cannot discount rooms that are booked thru an online service. We would have been happy to offer an additional drink, in addition to the 2 welcome drinks. On your next visit, we would like to offer you an upgrade and additional welcome drinks. We do hope you come back to visit us and we will do our best to make sure your stay is as amazing as our guests are!

Generally nice hotel for one night but nothing special. Price was high for the location and no breakfast was included. They included bottle water only for 2 while 3 in the room. They offered 2 drinks at the bar and parking all of which we already had to pay so technically nothing was complimentary.

Konstantinos - Thank you for staying with us and for the feedback on your recent stay. Our restaurant opens at 11:30am, so we do not offer breakfast, but there are many breakfast options in walking distance. We do include 2 bottles of Figi water in the rooms, but we would happy to provide more if needed. Our amenity fee does include parking, Figi water, Keurig coffee service, wifi, a welcome drink and spa bathrobes for in-house use. The parking lot is paid parking, but we provide a permit at check in. We apologize if we did not communicate the amenities and parking, properly at check in.

The hotel is beautiful and and the rooms were very clean. The only negative was JoAnn at the check in area. She was unfriendly, unwilling to help my 90 year old parents and had a bad attitude before we even checked in. JoAnn should not be working in a hospitality environment. She was the first impression and it was not a good one. I would stay in this hotel again, but would hope to have a different employee take us through the check in process.

Ivan - Thank you for staying with us on your recent visit to Freehold. Since we are downtown on Main Street we only offer drop off/pick up in the front of the hotel and the back parking lot is for all the downtown restaurants and hotel parking. It does get busy on the weekends, but we do offer a permit at check in for hotel parking. We do offer the restaurant menu in each room by scanning the bar code that is posted by the coffee maker. Your order will go directly to the kitchen and room service will be delivered to your room. We hope you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again soon!

My mother, myself and my children went for a Christmas weekend. Artie at the bar was extremely rude , hurtful, disrespectful and made us cry during the happy hour meal. The front lobby staff was also very short and rude. He was making fun and talking about my children to other patrons. I don't think the hotel is used to having any families there. However, Ryan and Brittany were incredible help. They saved our entire weekend. They were kind, gracious, understanding and very nice to my children. We ended up having a fantastic Santa brunch on Sunday thanks to them. We would return only if they were still there.

We were very happy with our stay at the American Hotel. Check in was fast and easy with Pat. She was friendly and helpful. Eric, the bartender, was friendly and efficient. The woman (sorry, I don’t remember her name) that checked us out was warm & friendly and offered us coffee to go as she knew we were going to be on the road. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Freehold.
