"I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. "The staff was amazing! When we got to the hotel we were all wet and cold. They didn’ even make us officially check in. They opened our rooms so we could change and have them wash and dry our clothes. Gave us hot ‘agua dulce’ to warm up, and put logs in the chimney so we warmed up. Very family oriented, very very welcoming. The rooms were very clean and breakfast was delicious!"
