We booked what was said to be the “best room in the house,” but honestly felt like we significantly overpaid. The condition of somethings could have been better for the price point of this establishment.
While most of the staff were fantastic, the experience at the pool was frustrating. The attendant (James) came across as overly strict and constantly policing guests, which made it hard to relax. We understand enforcing guest-only access, but this went beyond that and negatively impacted the atmosphere. His approach felt unwelcoming and took away from the overall experience.
Also, not allowing guests to bring their own water to the pool is unreasonable, especially at this price point. James was constantly monitoring & scolding people for bringing a tumbler with them, which resulted in several guests (with wristbands), leaving and not returning to the pool. Who wants to feel like the “warden” is watching their every move while trying to enjoy the pool area?
Between the cost and the number of rules, the experience didn’t feel worth it. We could have rented a private home for less and had a far more enjoyable stay. Lesson learned :)
To add to the experience, we were woken up this morning by a phone call stating that a smoke detector was going off in our room. There was no smoke, but an engineer still needed to come check just to be sure. Jessie was genuinely apologetic, and professional, but being woken up to that was not a pleasant experience overall.
