"We stayed two nights at Melia Orlando Celebration in April. Front desk gave us a parking pass right after we told her we didn’t have a car. One of our access wristbands broke in half about 12 hours into our stay. The room was clean, and the free shuttle to the theme parks was a great bonus and one of the reasons I booked here in the first place. However, the shuttle only had two pickup times from the Disney parks in the late evening 8:45-10:00pm, and we are adults visiting with no kids and don’t need to close down the park at night, so we ended up getting an uber back.
The onsite restaurant is absolutely not worth it. The safe in our room was not working, so I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my valuables in the room. Ice machines are only located on one floor, and the one in our building was broken with a sign saying to try an ice machine in “another building” (there are 4). The pool and jaccuzi were dirty. There was also a group of teen-20’s boys hanging out in the pool/jaccuzi who were not staying at the hotel; they were discussing which local hotels and resorts had the best pools and don’t check if you just pull into the parking lot and walk right in.
This hotel charges a “resort fee” which was just over $30/day at the time of our stay. This fee is for use of their “amenities”. This is a completely dishonest practice; the reasonable room price was offset by additional fees on arrival.
We vacation in Orlando frequently, but we will not choose this hotel again. "
