"Clean room"

"Customer service. We know BAD customer service when we see it, but how often do you see GOOD? Even rarer still is GREAT customer service! Today I personally experienced amazing customer service! My team and I were sitting in the lobby of our hotel (Holiday Inn Express, Houston Galleria) working before our next meeting and I was coughing due to my allergies. Dazhanae came over and offered all 3 of us bottled water. We were thankful and then later she came back and brought me 3 cups... hot water, lemon, and condiments and a tea bag (honey, sugar). She even brought me a fresh box of Kleenex!! No questions about why we were still hanging out working in the lobby, why I was coughing, etc. Just genuine care and concern. I went back to talk to her and get a picture, introduced myself and told her how much I appreciated her. I mentioned I live in Ft Worth and run a dementia day program. She then said, "I started in senior living, memory care!" What a small world! I'm happy for Holiday Inn Express for having such a great employee, but I'm sad for the senior living community that doesn't have this great employee, (but that's another post on retaining those gems that work in senior living over the long term!) "I told her, if my day program was in Houston I'd be hiring her!" It's the little things that make a big difference! "

"The tv didn't work I talked to the person on the front desk and he said he would come see about it and he didn't come. This morning I started to take a shower and tried to adjust the temperature and it quickly went to all hot and would not come down. I called the front desk and was told there was nothing they could do about it. I think I should get a refund of some amount."

"The hotel was nice however my biggest complaint would be about the housekeeping service. We requested for housekeeping expecting the dirty sheets and pillowcases to be replaced with clean ones however upon inspecting we realized that they were not replaced but flipped over. The floors also weren’t vacuumed because the same crumbs and dirt on the floor was still there after the service. The rating would have been higher however after what we experienced with the housekeeping service it raises the question if the sheets present when we checked in was ever washed or replaced. Also the elevator was quite slow. "

"The guests and amount of chaos at the hotel made us feel unsafe. There were 12 -14 motorcyclists parked in the garage, that would blast music and smoke pot, no one told them to turn the music off or leave the garage. They were all in the lobby, and made inappropriate comments to us."

"Location was good, close to the galleria, NRG, and Toyota center. You pay extra for parking but it comes out of your security deposit ($25/night). Staff was friendly. Room was spacious, lighting dim but windows helped. I communicated with the hotel and requested early check in a week before my arrival since my flight changed, they told me I could pay an extra fee for it which I agreed to but when I got there the room was not ready. Since I stayed for 5 days they said it was required for housekeeping to come in and refresh my room at least one day, they never refreshed my room but did leave new towels on my sink."
