"My first stay at the (Grand Junction Hilton) Doubletree in Grand Junction was nearly 40 years ago, October of 1986. Guess what-
The same carpet AND furniture is there today, as was 40 years ago! Can you imagine a dirty carpet in our suite? Can you imagine a mountain view of The National Monument through a bedside window that had not been cleaned for how long? Can you imagine sitting in a chair that literally "bottomed out," or chair and couch forty years old? Imagine all the rest, because it was quite vivid.
Fortunately the bathroom appeared clean, so I used towels to get across the room to dress, so my feet wouldn't touch the filthy carpet before I put on my socks and shoes.
I would expect this in a Super Dive for $69, not a Hilton Doubletree property for a couple of Ben Franklin's. Might also want to put the $12 open lot parking fee towards the parking lot pot holes.
Of course, we will cancel our July visit to this property. The really good news-the desk check-in/check out was excellent, with a very friendly and knowledgable staff, Doubletree cookies, and in-room coffee service.
Unfortunately, Grand Junction has more demand than supply this time of year, so you'll have to stay somewhere. I doubt the hotel manager would put family in Suite #710 for a wedding or other event, even a comp. :(
Such a great property location to deliver a filthy and disappointing experience.
For a professional carpet cleaning service, you could make a serious living here."
