"Wonderful!"

"Seems to be a struggling hotel. Double bed was two singles pushed together. and not comfortable Heater in bathroom and hall were permanently on despite hot weather. General decor is tired and reception staff not very engaging although they send too many messages through Expedia. The fire alarm going off repeatedly after midnight was not good. The restaurant was entirely respectable with good service and decent food. Not that busy even in July. The gym and pool are good too."

"Staff did their best to make a bad situation, tolerable. As noted by the hotel, they are surrounded by construction that is noisy and messy. Parking is nearby but you have to drag your luggage to the hotel. We had dinner in the restaurant and service was good as was the food. "

"I used to stay here a lot, but have not for a long time and won’t be going back….its very run down now in places and the bus tours they are catering for have turned it into a very different hotel."

"I thought it was in a good position in the city. Not too far from the city centre but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle. Nice to be down by the river too. One of the nights we were there, there was a stag group making an awful lot of noise outside the window. I felt someone should have told them to keep the noise down or go inside. I didn’t like the design of the bedside lights. Nearly bashed my head on one twice. Also the bathroom could have done with an extra shelf."
