"Rooms were clean but small and basic. No amenities other then wifi. Breakfast was buffet style over the weekend but basic; scrambled eggs, rice and beans, sausage and french toast. Bottled water was 4.00 and there is nothing within walking distance. 100$ to and from airport and uber is illegal. Should have done more research on my trip before booking. Also, left birkenstocks under the bed on accident and maid sayd she doesn't see them. Not happy."

"We had an amazing time at Epic Tamarindo. Arnold and Emma were true professionals. They booked every tour for us, and made sure we were at the best restaurants. The daily breakfast poolside were so yummy, everyone had something they loved and every morning was a little different. Would highly recommend this place."

"We had our own private oasis. It was nice after a red eye flight to have a quiet calm intimate place to relax. Virginia and her dog made our entire time so special. The minor note was the rooms were hot. The AC had a hard time keeping up with the hot heat. Drinks were good! Food was good. Views were amazing."

"We had an excellent time at the Mikado. It was our first time to Costa Rica and it was probably one of our best holidays. Such a fun adventure. Lolo was an excellent host and if you do stay you must take advantage of her dinners. Incredibly romantic. The location is perfect. Quick drives to Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas and Playa Conchal. Great places to explore and then return to the peace and tranquility of the lodge. Absolutely perfect. "

"Beautiful water feature / pool, the casitas are modern, clean and comfortable overall, and there’s an open shared dining area. That said, for the price, the property needs some work. We were told that we couldn’t use the open kitchen area at all (even to microwave our own food for a minute) because “it won’t be fair to other guests,” even though it wasn’t being used at all in the evening. Oddly, our upgraded “Garden View” didn’t have a garden view at all; there was essentially a bush in front of it, next to a fence and a house, where presumably the owners lived. And, most importantly, the bathroom in our casita didn’t have a door, just a curtain, creating a lack of privacy for guests. Lastly, the property was clearly subdivided to maximize income for the owners, but there isn’t much space or privacy between the casitas. And a pile of rocks at the front of the property when we walked in suggested an active construction site, rather than a place to rest and recover."

"Everything!!! We were the only people staying there at the time and got to have the whole place to ourselves. It was a great birthday treat for myself and my partner. 10/10 would go back especially for the dogs: Canela, Chocolate, and Rocky"
