"When you arrive at the hotel you appreciate the history that lies within it. The Crown Hotel has a charming appeal ,and it's a traditional English hotel. The reception area is inviting with a large fire place that is historic, and next to it is a very inviting lounge also. There is a lift that is ( supposedly) the oldest in Europe!
The bar in in the resturant is very nicely decorated, a good choice of wine, beers and spirit's, if you would like to have a tipple.
The rooms are very clean, the bed was very comfortable, with a good night's sleep had. Bathroom compact but was very clean, shower or bath was great with lots of hot water, they provide hair and body wash if you forget yours.
Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice and quality of food. The resturant again served very good quality food in the evening. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
There is a Garden area to relax in with enough seating for all, also within the lounges they provide board games, cards, chess should you have time on your hands or while away the time with a night cap !
Definitely recommend a stay at The Crown."
