A bit far from old town but that's kind of nice since the area is quieter. There's lots of upscale hotels and restaurants in the area so finding affordable meals near here is a bit tough.
Our biggest issue was privacy: the female dorm is on the first floor with glass in the door and the beds had no curtains on them - so you had nowhere to change clothes in privacy, sleep without lights bothering you, look at your phone at night without lighting up the whole dorm, etc.
Bathrooms left a lot to be desired: there are two toilet stalls and two shower stalls and these are shared with anyone who visits the restaurant and bar at the hostel...so lots of drunk people who miss the toilet. Also, there's no door leading to the toilets so your entrance/exit and feet can literally be seen all the way from the entrance of the hostel.
Shower pressure is non-existent, but hot water situation is fine. Biggest problem here is trying to change or shower in the stall while the cleaning lady is throwing buckets and buckets and buckets of water at the toilets to clean them off and being splashed by all that gross liquid under the stalls since the walls don't go to the floor.
Staff is friendly enough and able to book excursions and rent mopeds (in desperate need of maintenance...rider beware). Free breakfast is a great perk. Beds are comfortable. Lockers are large and clean. Pool is on the small side but great for a quick dip on a hot day.
Overall value is good, if a bit far from the action.
