"We didnt see any shops, my only reason for one low score, is that we were in room 7 on Friday 20th March. When we went to the room the smell of Fresh paint was very strong. The young lady on reception moved us to another room. Which was perfect. "

"Check-in was easy, staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small with stains on the carpet and marks on the wall - not great. Evening meal was very good in terms of quality. Not great was serving time and overall state of chairs and tables. Chairs were absolutely uncomfortable and tables wabbly in restaurant and breakfast room. Parking was OK, but road into property is full of potholes."

"Stinky room with smell of fungus, strange check-in questions - declarations for lost items and asking for taking photo of ID. Breakfast - just brought plate without asking what I actually want to have for full English?? This place is not good - cannot recommend. One bright spot was easy parking. "

"Great location and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room itself was ok, a bit tired and in need of a refresh, it was clean and the bed comfy. I’d say breakfast wasn’t cooked to order purely by the speed it appeared, it was standard English breakfast, though felt one rasher of bacon and one sausage was a bit of a poor show, when you generally get two of each of those items elsewhere. It was however decent quality. The selection of cereals and pastries was good, the Greek yoghurt...

"My daughter and I had such a lovely time at the hotel and spa, Rudolph greeted us with his lovely smile and willingness to help during our stay at the hotel,the food at Wilfreds was amazing and every member of staff were polite and attentive,we also had a day at the spa,wow!what an experience,it exceeded our expectations,the lovely Lorna looked after us ,the whole experience from the massage the facilities the food , cleanliness and especially the staff was amazing ."

"A gem of a BnB. From the warm friendly and welcoming greeting on arrival, through to the wonderful tasty breakfast in the morning. We only stayed one night, but were made to feel so at home. The rooms and amenities were lovely and clean, with well considered playful decor. The bed was also really comfortable. The full breakfast was a beast a bit much for us but you could pick what you wanted so we went with just bacon, sausage and eggs with toast. It was cooked perfectly and the ingredients...

"we wanted somewhere for an overnight stay after flying back from Greece to Manchester before driving back to the north east. I'll start with the pros. beds were clean and very comfy. tea/facilities in the room were welcome. staff lovely. good and safe parking. very quiet hotel. breakfast was delicious and just what we needed before a 2 hour plus journey. 5 minutes walk to wetherspoons where we went for tea and couple of drinks. cons. yes it was a little dirty in places ie main passageways...
