"We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. Continental breakfast was served promptly at 8 am and the addition of fresh strawberries and blueberries was a definite plus! Check in / check out was swift and efficient. "On arriving I was the outside appearance was a bit of a shock and I doubted wether as a single female traveller to stay there was some rooms where the curtains in the windows was torn down , broken chair outside , some of the other guests was outside let's just say was enjoying a few pints etc but I gave it a benefit of the doubt and went and checked in so I could see what the room was like before making a disision wether to not stay. "This is a charming country house and everyone was amazing. We enjoyed a walk around the property and the food was spot on. You can’t go wrong staying here if in the neighborhood. If you’re also familiar wrote ceramics, you’ll find several ships about 10-15 mins away that is a great place to browse and shop. "

"Staff were doing their best to help. Maintenance is poor, with a wonderful collection of black mould in the en-suite. Noise from the road is almost unbearable. I made the mistake of booking 2 nights and certainly won't be going back."

"Lovely hotel for a few days while at a wedding. Clean and spacious room with effective shower. Coincided with the Chester Folk Festival in the village, so evenings were really lively. As we were with friends in the village, we didn't have a main meal at the pub / hotel, but my daughter's snack was excellent. The menu had plenty of choices.
