"The men's bathroom was two floors below our room. The mattress on my bed was worn out and I could feel metal springs on my back. On the plus side, the room had a good view, it was reasonably priced, and the manager refunded my money when the paid-for breakfast was not provided."

"This hostel was incredibly clean, including the room, showers, toilets, and the shared kitchen and lounge. I have stayed in hostels several times before, but this is the cleanest one I have ever experienced! The hostel managers were also kind and very warm people; they really looked after me! If I have the chance to visit Islay again, I would definitely stay here and would highly recommend it to my friends!"

"The hostel was clean and comfortable. Room and bathrooms were very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. The view from the panoramic lounge was amazing and it was well stocked with board games and toys for the children to play with. Torridon is a short walk away with a general store and there is a lovely cafe nearby too. "

"This was a wonderful hostel. The check-in was very quick and the staff member on the desk was so friendly and helpful. We were two older couples in a quadruple room which was very comfortable. The kitchen was very big, modern, squeaky clean and had all the equipment and utensils required/needed. There were numerous tables in the dining area. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and thoroughly recommend Glencoe Hostel."

"This was our favorite stay for our whole trip!! Lots of parking, not lots of people, beautiful scenery, wonderful lounging area. We really enjoyed the benches looking out over the water. It was easy to find and there were books with suggestions of things to do and places to go, which was nice. I wish we could have stayed longer!!!"
