"This is not your usual hotel. Google says this is “serviced accommodation”. The reality is that this is halfway between a hotel (lovely comfy bed and gorgeous duvet, good modern bathroom) and a youth hostel (no kettles of tvs in rooms). For the price and the location, I recommend it. Accept it for what it is and you’ll be fine. Wonderful friendly staff. Decent breakfast for the add on price. They’ve tried really hard with the decor and lighting. Well done, Malacuna!"

"The location at the bottom of the street near the Cowgate was ok but I needed to take into account the incline up to the high street. Closeness to station and transport is good. Breakfast adequate for the day’s excursions. Needed to get to bus station and did it in 20mins. At 80 years of age I was proud of myself! There were many senior citizens in the building. My only criticism would be not knowing the layout and procedure for food etc all doable."
