"The rooms were fine, but it’s more a bar and nightclub than a boutique hotel. After making the booking they sent a message informing us about the late night music which was not advertised in the description. I asked to cancel but they refused, and said they would allocate a quiet room instead. When we arrived they had downgraded the room type (no bath included as promised) and did not offer to alter the price."

"Beautiful, historic building, with lovely, tastefully decorated rooms. The staff were very helpful. Good breakfast was included in the room price. We were there during a heatwave and the room stayed uncomfortably warm all night, but I do not fault the hotel for this. Would definitely stay again, though perhaps not in midsummer. 😄"

"Absolutely lovely building and room was lovely, stayed in room 216, floor was very squeaky in certain areas and looked like a leak patch in ceiling when you walk in but didn’t put us off. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bar staff were excellent as was the very nice lady Phoebe on reception, she was lovely and welcoming , Breakfast was fabulous, had full English, small portions but very tasty, with a wide selection of buffet style breakfasts as well, cereals/ toasts ect. "We had a fantastic stay and would happily return. The hotel was clean, well-maintained and had a lovely atmosphere throughout. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and always happy to help, making us feel looked after from check-in to check-out. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, and the facilities were excellent. "Great situation with its own underground car park; not that easy to find on first lap, as I was alone, but just before the steps to reception on the left……£10 charge was is fine. A bit tired from the outside and needs a bit of TLC, but room was fine and…..roomy!! Breakfast not worth bothering with, as just cold Continental, but so close to town, so other options? Great value for position and practicality; helpful SA gent on reception on arrival - would revisit for sure, but don’t use if trying...

"The carpets in the inn were filthy when walking up to the rooms! The beds were super squeaky and the room got super warm at night. We asked for a fan and were given one that doesn't work. Sleeping was almost impossible for me. The en suite bathroom we had in the double room did not only not have a latch, but the door also somehow swung and was overall very inconvenient - not ideal if you're travelling with someone who's not your partner. "The room we stayed in was just right size and comfy, with fast Wi-Fi and everything we need. The bathroom was okay, but the shower area only had a curtain to keep things in, which wasn’t the best. The breakfast was great, with lots of hot food to choose from, and you could even order from the kitchen. The cleaning could use a bit more work, though—there were visible stains on the toilet and heavy stains on the tea kettle."

"Not recommended, honestly we almost slept in the car. The main issues started on attempting to check in. We arrived late (around 1am) but there was no-one at the hotel that we could see. We then called the 24/7 line around 10 times, most of these times we were hung up on/disconnected prior to getting information.
