Charming.

Ideally located in a quiet area next to zoological gardens. Taxis and buses readily available. Quick ride to Central and Admiralty. We were checked in by Eric, very efficient. All the staff were so polite and helpful.

It is a great place to stay and good value for money spent . However, each morning there was a bad smell in the bathroom even though it had not been used. Not sure why

Garden View is situated halfway up the hill, but not too far to walk down to Central district. The front desk and the concierge are very friendly and helpful, appreciate their help. Room is not too small, but would be nice to have a stand to put luggage on instead on the floor.

On a hill

Hotel was fine, although relatively close to (Lively) area it is at the top of a hill with a lot of steps and steep slopes, so wouldn't recommend unless very mobile

I usually stay at GV in HK because of the location which is super convenient for my own personal reasons. It is not a super luxurious place BUT it is clean, comfortable, spacious, and the staff are always excellent, very friendly and helpful overall. Incredibly good value in a very central location if you want to be in the mid levels area.

I love this hotel. It’s very clean and classy. Its current restaurant is being renovated but the restaurant next store (Cafe 8) has a beautiful skyline view of Hong Kong with a good menu variety and 2 for 1 happy hour. However, it’s not near any walkable shops or dining. Still, cab ride one way range from $4 to $6 to the downtown area and there’s a taxi every few minutes available all over the city. From the airport, take AirPort Express Train and get off at Hong Kong Central from there there’s an easy taxi service to the hotel. Train is $12 and taxi price depends on how many suitcases. Likely under $10 to the hotel. Taxi from the airport is very expensive ($50 -$70) Now I don’t know if the cab charges per person… Garden View is still a wonderful option. And you can walk to the downtown area. It’s easy because it’s down hill but I strongly suggest take a taxi ride back up. Also, the Peak Tram attraction (a must do in HK) is 10-12 minutes walk from the hotel.

Excellent water pressure in the shower and the bathtub drains quickly. Room was in front of the elevator so I could hear people coming and going but it wasn't bad. Great view over Hong Kong. I walked up from Central subway station. The hotel is up on a steep hill and it took me about 30 minutes as I made a few wrong turns and had to take water breaks. I recommend taking a taxi to the hotel unless you're a seasoned hiker. Walking down to the bar area of Lan Kwai Fong took about 15 minutes. Good value for money. I can recommend Garview View Hotel.

Other than the daily change of towels & garbage, my husband & I enjoyed walking through the Botanical Garden on our way to the Central MTR station every day. Even though the hotel is a bit out of the way to the MTR station, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel before check-in time once we arrived from the airport and also after our check-out time to go to the airport. A must to go swimming in the pool on a hot & humid day. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Great hotel, great value for money

Really good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and they offer room service every day. The room has all the essentials you could need (hair dryer, body wash, moisturiser, toothbrush etc). It’s in a fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay! Our only criticism would be that the mattresses are very firm, which isn’t what we’re used to. However, this wouldn’t stop he staying again in future. I’d definitely recommend for your stay in HK.

This hotel was in a nice area next to animals and botanic garden. Very useful supermarket next door and breakfasts good in adjoining property. A little difficult to get bus but taxi to most places only £5. The foyer and lifts very clean but we felt cleaning in room was poor. Generally a good stay and good value for money

Needs improvement...

Generally, the fixtures and features are aging and the cleanliness is not up to the expected standard. The carpet is dirty, many scratches and damages on the headboard, the water-flow of the washbasin is weak, black fungus around the washbasin.
