I made a last minute booking as I was driving through and sometimes that means you get the room no one else wanted and some extra hassle. I was pleasantly surprised to get a very comfortable, clean room and easy check in with friendly staff. I was only there for a short rest but the bed was really comfortable and breakfast was better than most. Only downside was the beverage machine was not working and I am not a coffee drinker, but things break and I would gladly stay there again.

I believe that this property was another hotel originally judging from the looks of it. But Holiday Inn Express has done a good job of transforming it into their model which is clean, comfortable and inviting.

The property was clean, safe, & very accommodating to us staying with our diabetic pug. The staff were beyond friendly and compassionate! Kudos to the maintenance man that helped my husband clean up broken glass that fell out of our car when he opened the back hatch. The breakfast was good. We only stopped for the night because traveling with a diabetic dog from Houston, Texas to Kalamazoo, Michigan is just not great. We had to have a nice cool place for our dog to heat as it was 100+ degrees for temperature. If in the area I would stay at this location again.

When I check in the girl at the desk asked for my ID and notice I lived here in town and asked if that was correct that I live here and I said, "yes." She then asked me why I was staying at the hotel then? I did tell her but they should not be questioning why a paying customer is staying there. Otherwise it was a decent stay.

It looks like it was an old hotel converted into a Holiday Inn. But no matter, the inside is in fantastic shape. Breakfast with plenty of options compared to other places. Friendly staff, and clean rooms.

Everything seemed clean. The beds were very comfortable. However, both of the rooms we rented smelled very musty, even acrid as if there was some sort of tobacco residue clinging to the carpet.
