"For an older Hotel/Motel very well kept. A bit noisy if you are on 1st floor. Wood structure, you hear the people above you! stay on second floor. Overall area is very safe, and beautyful. PS. Disappointed with the seafood market. It is not commercial like the pictures. Very small and not stocked like a true seafood market. It was true in the old days, not anymore!"
"We had a wonderful time at Island Place. It is a great location and we enjoyed many of the restaurants near the property. The staff of Island Place were very kind and set this place apart from other Bar Harbor options. We were heading into town for a wedding and they helped make sure we were checked in and ready to go! "The property is great! Perfect walkable downtown location. My room kind of felt like a terrarium (room 11 with all the windows), but the draperies were sufficient to create privacy.
