This hotel is in the perfect location when we come to visit our GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER in Barboursville WV. It is close to the Huntington Mall for shopping, movies & so many restaurants to choose from. The Staff are excellent and so helpful. Especially, Andrew, at the front desk. He's the best! We will continue to stay here every time we come to Barboursville. You can't go wrong

The common areas were a bit dirty. I think this hotel is a popular choice for pet owners because we saw and heard multiple dogs while we were there. Unfortunately this is what led to there being several small piles of dog doo between the front desk and the elevator, including one that already had a shoe print in it. I told the front desk clerk about it and they said thank you, but I could tell that it was probably making them second-guess their career choices. Room itself was ok, but had the same weak lingering smell as the halls.

Elevator broke down during our one night stay so we had to carry our luggage down steps. Breakfast was insufficient - the juice machine was just water, no refills on the eggs and bacon. We will not book a reservation in the future. We have already found another motel to call when we come through the area again.

The first room we were given smelled like old cigarettes and mold. There were bread crusts on the floor under the edge of the bed (clearly visible) and though the bed was made there was an imprint on the top cover of someone sitting on the bed. The clerk at the desk moved into another room that was reasonably clean. Entire building smelled like chlorine and mold, and the hallways and stairs h were not vacuumed during our stay.

I have never stayed at any Comfort Inn before this visit. The air conditioner did not work. Bottle of conditioner in the shower was empty. The freezer compartment was 2 inches thick with ice. It had broken the plastic on the door. Breakfast was served between 7 to 10 am. at 9, most pastries and bred were gone. They did not help.

First impressions are everything and when I got here the person that is suppose to check us in is outside having a smoke. She seemed disturbed that we arrived . It was late and I get it, but it just seemed rude when she told me to wait. The beds were not very comfortable, but after I found the curtain to block out the light that was in my eyes I was able to get some sleep. The shower was great, except for some black mold on the ceiling. Plenty of counter space.
