Perfect place to stay in the middle of the Shimanami Kaido bike ride. Very warm staff. Excellent breakfast. Excellent views. Bike-friendly place with beautiful grounds. We had our own "cabin" with ocean view. We were given a ride by the staff to and from an island restaurant for dinner.

Breathtaking view and peaceful place. Mana was incredible and even drove us to the temple and came back to collect us an hour later (which after a long bike ride was fabulous). The air conditioning worked well and the food served was tasty!

While it was “glamping”, the people there made all the difference! Nice bbq dinner and breakfast. A shoutout to Pierre who loves what he does! In all likelihood you will bump into a wonderful person, Daisake-san, who has been with Wakka for the longest time and was literally born on the grounds of what became Wakka. He is the boat captain who takes you out sightseeing and fishing (and if you catch something, he will make sashimi for you). Wonderful stop for us on our intermediate stop across the Shimanami bike ride.

Our experience pre and during our stay was excellent. From booking our luggage and bike package to delivering our bikes, and helping us to organise dinner options, taxis, and change of last minute cycle plans when the weather turned inclement, it was all handled professionally and we felt very well looked after. To say that the staff are helpful, friendly and efficient is an understatement. They made our stay here memorable. The accommodation was well designed with great views across the water. Nice touch that they provide pyjamas, indoor and outdoor slippers and washing machine and drier facilities. Would definitely recommend.

Wakka was perfect - I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was so kind & helpful, the room was cozy & very comfortable, the location was great, and the food was delicious. I cannot think of anything to be done better; it was truly a fantastic stay!

We hebben hier in de luxe tent geslapen, de bbq is een echte aanrader. Prima service, goed uitgeruste tent met goede bedden en airco. Ontbijt is super en goede vriendelijke service.

レジデンスを利用しました。アウトドア用のチェアとテーブルで海を眺めながらいただいたビールが素敵でした。ケータリングスタイルの夕食もおいしかったです。欲を言えば部屋の段差が多かったのとテレビがあったらよかったな、と思いました。

Great place to stay

Stayed for one night in the tent and it was worth the splurge. The tent comes with two comfortable beds and a small sitting area, plus an outdoor area which was where we had our BBQ. Note that the tent has no toilet or shower and we had to use the common one which was a short walk away

It was amazing! The room was stunning - we chose the room with private bathroom and kitchen and had amazing views of the water and the bridge. Staff very attentive and helpful. We booked the deliver and rental service which is extra, they provide luggage transfer from when you arrive to the accommodation and drop off when you leave. Very handy! Also provide a number to call if you need any assistance whilst your on your bike ride. Can’t recommend this place enough.

After a day biking in down pouring rain, the staff greeted me with hot tea and offered to bring me a meal to my room. The tent was cozy and peaceful and the facilities were extremely clean, modern and well designed. This is one of the most special stays I’ve ever experienced and I hope to come back again. Thank you Wakka team!

Great value. Very helpful staff.

Stayed here for three nights. Excellent, helpful, polite and enthusiastic staff. Great value and great location for exploring the bike trails at own pace. I receieved lots of help over email prior to arrival to help plan the logistics of my trip. If I were to return to Shinamani Kaido, I would definitely consider staying here again.

Amazing stay in one of the cottages. The luggage service was friendly, reliable and efficient. It allowed us to cycle the Shimanami Kaido without worrying about the logistics of moving our luggage. A big thank you to all the staff at Wakka!

We had one of the tents, which was very comfortable and unique. Excellent staff, and the dinner served outside our tent on a private BBQ was incredible. Also the best breakfast we had in Japan. We rode from Onomichi almost all the way to Imabari, then turned around and rode to Wakka, getting there by 4 pm (good decision because it started to sprinkle rain.) We did not need to use the shared shower because of the (included) entry to the nearby onsen which was full of only local families, so a truly authentic experience. And getting up at night to use the bathroom nearby was actually not a problem either.
