"The property is hundreds of years old, has charm etc. The staff are fantastic, rooms good size well appointed. Down side...parking an issue stairs to the rooms are steep and narrow. Thank you looking after us"

"Lovely night stop over,the room was clean, comfortable and had everything needed for your stay,although slightly dated it is an old property and the furnishings fitted in with the age of the property. Staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good . Good value for money. If you want a place to stay for a quick stop over and easy access for places to see in Cornwall then it’s great."

"There are two Plume of Feathers in Cornwall. If you search for the one in Portscatho on Google this one is likely to show up and I made the mistake in booking it. When I contacted them once I had realised my error they said it was not up to them to refund but Expedia - who I contacted. They were helpful and sympathetic - but they said it was actually at the discretion of the host who they contacted on my behalf but they declined my request. I again contacted the PoF to ask them to reconsider...

"Location good and parking available. Property a little tired but room clean and adequate for a short stay. Tea/coffee in room. Walkable to a local co-op which was useful, not a lot available for eating facilities though hotel has restaurant onsite. We drove out of town for sightseeing. Swimming pool onsite which was great- in need of some TLC but adequate for relaxing and cooling off (though heated all year round). Would recommend for a short stay. Staff friendly and helpful."

"We enjoyed our harbour view room very much. There was always something going on around the harbour. it was quite a long way to the main Falmouth attractions so we ate mostly at the hotel . The food and drink at the hotel was quite pricey but perhaps on a par with other hotels in the area. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The staff were helpful . The surroundings were a bit drab and the outside space quite limited and close to the road. The hotel was in need of decoration in some areas....

"The cobblestone parking was slightly challenging, and we weren’t expecting to be in a separate building from the inn, but the room was very comfortable and the large window had a great view which brightened up the space. The location was perfect, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. We appreciated that breakfast was included."

"I don't think I've ever been made to feel so unwelcome at a hotel or B'n'B. We were using public transport. We were dropped off by taxi at 10am. Obviously we weren't expecting to check in but I've never stayed anywhere where luggage storage isn't available. The owner's immediate reaction was to tell us we check in isn't until 2. She did allow us to leave the luggage but I was taken aback at the unwelcoming attitude. We came back at 2. Owner complained that she had no details about the booking....

"We stayed for week in a Garden Room during a visit to Cornwall with my wife during a heat-wave. The room was large and airy with two bathrooms. The staff had put a large fan in the room and it was running when we went in and it kept the room at a comfortable temperature during the stay. We had breakfast every morning included. The service was quick and efficient with helpful, friendly and polite staff, the food and choice were excellent. There was plenty of parking at the hotel and the bar...

"We are a family of 4 (kids 8 and 11) staying in a room set up as a family room - double bed and the kids sharing a sofa bed. The room was snug but really good. Each room is 3 old cells knocked into 1, with the bathroom taking up 1/3 or of the room. The bathroom was really good and enormous. The staff at the hotel were super friendly and helpful. "Beautifully situated next to the beach in Falmouth, although it is a shame that a large building obscures much of the sea view. Upon arrival the receptionist was rather brusque, not to say rude, and just barked “surnames” in our direction, which wasn’t very welcoming. The luxury suite with sundeck room was very nice and comfortable with a good shower, great bed and shower. The bar staff were excellent and very friendly. "I like the character and location of the property and the staff are doing the best that they can. The property is dated and in need of investment. The bedroom could have been a bit cleaner (hoovering the carpet which did not seem to happen during my stay) and the bedding did not fit the mattress. The staff were kind and helpful though some better manners from certain bar staff would have gone a long way. The food was great."

"When I arrived very early, they made my check in so easy and let me have the room well before lunchtime no extra cost. The food was excellent. I had breakfast and evening meal there. Food quality, and price was good. Room was very comfortable. Very clean shower and towels were nice. Highly recommend it would definitely stay there again."
