It’s an older hotel, not located anywhere convenient or near major sightseeing spots, but quite nice. Hardly any foreign tourists when I stayed, so if you want to experience the good old Japan (that is becoming increasingly difficult to find), here is the excellent option.
we stayed last night, my parents were so happy to stay there. stuff are so nice, big bath are so beautiful food was excellent!
Thank you so much!!!! Definitely we will come back!
It is a great choice if you were self-drive traveler. The room was large and comfortable. There was a nice view from onsen. The dinner was sumptuous and delicious. There were also a variety of foods in buffet breakfast.
This was a cozy little hotel in the small town and the room had a nice water view. The room was clean and it had a vanity and toilet (with no bath), but it was absolutely sufficient for us. The hot spring was on the top floor with nice view as well.
The meals were nice. The dinner was "kaiseki" style where each person was served a set menu. It was pretty and tasty as well. We liked their breakfast buffet as well, although they served many of the same items every day. (We stayed 3 days) We happened to like what was served.
The only slightly disappointing thing was that they served the exact same dinner on our 1st night and 3rd night. Had we known that, we could have stayed only 2 nights.
Overall, we recommend this hotel.
If you are staying more than 2 days get a rental car. The hotel is very good at what it does, which is provide a relaxing atmosphere with an accessible onsen. The restaurants there are not really restaurants. Breakfast is a buffet of plentiful food, mostly Japanese but I believe a pure westerner could survive. There is no lunch service. The dinner is a set menu of classical Japanese fare, which after the second day becomes a bit tiresome, but doable. They also offered a bonus meal at 9pm of noodles and such. There is a modest happy hour from about 3pm to 8:30 pm which provides a variety of booze and snacks. Staff speaks no English, so be prepared for that, but they are very friendly. My Japanese is passable so I was able to get assistance from the staff to get a rental car and reserve taxis, etc. There is no laundry service and if you have a tattoo you mus cover it while in the onsen. I checked at other hotels with onsens and most don't allow tattoos at all. The location is up on a little hill away from anything walking distance. There is no safe walking path of significant length around the hotel that is not on a narrow road, so don't count on any walks. There is a tennis court but other than that not any place to get cardio. But if you are coming here you are not coming for that. I am including in the description so the reader knows what is there. I would come again for sure.
This property does not live up to its website. What you’ll find is a rundown property, poorly maintained, no outdoor sauna and overall nothing like the website.
Overall this was disappointing as I feel like their we site is deceptive.
