Real de la Palma is a lovely property set in lush tropical gardens with two pools. The covered, but open air lobby connects to the restaurant La Viejo where we dined most meals. Staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is a heaith spa on site as well as two pools. Rooms are Mexican style, decorated with rustic woodwork. We spent most of our time outside, but found the rooms to be comfortable. La Ropa beach five minutes walk, and taxi and shuttles conveniently close. On the beach many restaurants and cafés with lounge chairs available. For Zihuatenejo downtown … five minutes by cab or shuttle. By end of our weeks stay, we felt very at home, even part of the family, at Real de la Palma.

Hidden Gem!

Very happy with this hotel, it was a hidden gem!! The rooms and hotel grounds were immaculate and super charming. Only a block from Playa Ropa but quiet and safe-feeling. And the restaurant is amazing! Would definitely return with family, friends next chance i get.

Wish it was better

I really wanted to like this hotel. The grounds are truly a beautiful boutique style hotel with greenery jungle atmosphere. We (a large family occupying 4 family cabin rooms and 1 couples room) arrived around 8 pm to find out that the large pool was empy and out of service. We had to go to the smaller pool in the back of the property which was already occupied by a large family. It was very dark and seating for only a few people. We had to go get our chairs from our rooms patio. Tried to get food service and our server Rogelio was kind and hard working but the kitchen staff could not get our orders right and I ended up not even getting my food at all, went to bed hungry. My room was a little weird and old and my daughter found spiders in the beds frame (made of cement). Do not expect a super comfy bed and spotless room. Go if you are ok with things not being perfect in exchange for beautiful scenery and walking distance to playa ropa beach. Oh yeah another thing the bar was not able to make any of my favorite cocktails. Had to stick to tequila sunrises and beer. They have a lot of improvements to make but i think they do have potential.

Absolutely wonderful stay at the Real de la palma. Beautiful rustic Mexican rooms . Loved the second floor balcony above the pools. The grounds are Amazing. The staff were super attentive and made the Experience a true memorable holiday.
