"We enjoyed our stay at Gasthof Ami very much. The local scenery is spectacular and the location of Gasthof Ami is excellent for enjoying the surrounding area. We only used public transit or walking while visiting the area and that worked great. Downtown Nikko is a pleasant 1 hour walk. Or if you want the bus, the stop is a 5 or 10 minute walk from the hotel. Places such as Kegan Falls, Lake Chuzenji, Yudaki and Yumoto are all easy to get to on the bus. The room was very spacious and clean....

"What a gem of a hotel to consider if visiting Nikko. This hotel has few rooms but fantastic staff and great service. Our breakfast and dinner were included and they were excellent. The private hot spring in the hotel was nice private and relaxing experience. You are within blocks of the temple and shrine and Shinkyo bridge. The rooms have complimentary drinks and snacks and are spotless and in good condition. Upon check out they provide free transportation to the train station. Ten out...

"The best partnof this hotel is the onsen, very easy to use the private facility. The hotel is located quite a distance from the train station so it could be difficult to access depending on weather. However it was close to Toshogu shrine and the Kanmangafuchi Abyss was right next door. Highly recommend if you like relaxing in onsen waters."
