"This was the middle hotel on our 75 km Shimanami bike ride and we arrived very hot and tired. The room was not ready for us, but the staff happily took our bags so we could enjoy the town while the room was being prepared. Once we arrived in it, the room was a beautiful newly constructed all wood artsy dream place. Comfortable bed, beautiful, bathing facilities, and a woodfired restaurant downstairs that gave us an amazing meal, coincidentally with several members of the friendly staff whose...

"The morning meals were excellent. I did not attempt to try to bar. I did only stay at the hotel when I landed and took off from the airport, but I do know the next time I come to Japan this will probably be the hotel. I stay at the whole time and it’s conveniently located and is within a 40 minute to an hour drive to where I needed to go and some places that I should’ve went. The staff is amazing very respectful very helpful and very understanding. I will definitely come back to this hotel...

"This was our (family of four age 9 and 11 kids) first Ryokan experience. It was incredible. We loved the authentic Japanese feel. It was an adventure getting there on a boat and we rented bikes next door for a beautiful all day ride. It’s a great spot to ride from in the middle of the Kaido. If you want a traditional, relaxing stay—book this! We hope to return. (We did 2 rooms with 2 people each because the bedrooms are smallish.)"
