From this lively and picturesque riverside stretch filled with parks, restaurants and hotels, the towers of Manhattan and Ellis Island appear in iconic vistas.

The Hudson Waterfront is Jersey City’s premier riverside hub. Many of the stylish restaurants and cafés along this pedestrian walkway have terraces with unobstructed views of the river and the Manhattan skyscrapers across the water. Visit the Hudson Waterfront to enjoy a pleasant stroll with your family along the promenade and view the many sights adorning it.

Marking the southern end of the boulevard is the Colgate Clock, a large octagonal timekeeper that once stood on the roof of the company’s headquarters. See the clock at night, when its lights are reflected in the water. Just north is Paulus Hook, a pier where you can take ferries to Manhattan, Brooklyn and other parts of the region.

Lean on the rails of the J. Owen Grundy Park that juts out over the river and watch the boats pass by. In this scenic spot and the Exchange Place square beside it, you’ll find deluxe hotels and apartment blocks with views of the river.

Continue north and inspect the boats in Harsimus Cove. Try the seafood at one of the restaurants and relax in the park beside the red-and-white stripes of the Lefrak Point Lighthouse.

Bring the whole family to Newport Green Park, a fun outdoor area with colourful and innovative climbing frames, poles and webs that will amuse the kids for hours. Sunbathe on a deck chair on the artificial sandy beach and play games on the grass.

The Hudson Waterfront area is on the eastern bank of the Hudson River in the heart of Jersey City. It runs south from Newport Green Park to Liberty State Park. Arrive at one of the many light rail stations in the riverside area. Bikes are available to rent from the Newport PATH station to help you get around the waterfront with ease.

Head a few blocks west to the districts of The Village and Historic Downtown.
