"Disappointing experience for a supposed 5-star hotel. The room had an unpleasant smell throughout our stay, which was hard to ignore. Staff were not particularly warm or welcoming. The food was very average—more like basic café fare similar to Coffee Club in Australia rather than quality hotel dining. Sukun restaurant up the road was a 5 star experience. Overall, not the luxury experience we were expecting."

"The room was at very basic condition, leaking shower tap and basin. The staff were great, room service and reception were great. The main pool is beautiful and clean but the infinity pool wasn't great specially with supper slippery area around the pool. The break fast at international restaurant was great. Japanese restaurant was perfect. Indian restaurant were bad. The Soho bar staff and service was trouble. The beach was much more better than what I was expected. "

"Tanah Gajah was by far the most relaxing vacation my wife and I have ever had. From our villa with infiti pool looking on to the rice paddies to the private walled accomodation, the extensive beautifully designed gardens, wonderful food by chef Dean, everything superb! Staff couldn’t do enough and everyone, from ground staff to housekeeping to management should be proud of your customer services, a truly fantastic experience, my wife and I can’t wait to come back."

"The stay at Maya was nice and the area was beautiful. The Villas are very peaceful as well as the whole property. There is a nice calm feeling at this resort as it feels secluded even though it is very close to the downtown Ubud area. The live performances at dinner were a fun addition; if that be the traditional dancing at the main restaurant or the band doing cover songs at the bar. We are giving Maya 4 stars rather than 5 because a lot of the amenities stopped between 5 and 7 which created multiple inconvenient experiences on trip. For example, the tram is a great amenity that takes guests to downtown Ubud but it only runs from 9am to 5pm. This is such an early time to be shutting down this amenity. In addition the pools and spa close at 7pm which seems very early. Regardless of the amenities, this was a very nice resort to have some calm and just be."

"Very beautiful hotel directly at the beach. Broad variety for breakfast. Very friendly staff, very clean. Perfect location if you want to relax amd enjoy a beautiful beach. Not a lot to do around the hotel."
