" "Work in progress" on the exterior, but the interior has been painstakingly restored to the home's original splendor by the owners over several years. Once inside the beauty & craftmanship of a bygone era really comes alive. My wife & I stayed in the Library room and it was very nice. Michelle was a very gracious host and her breakfast including freshly made apple coffee cake was delicious. My wife was reluctant to stay from outward appearances of the property, but she was glad that we did! "

"The innkeeper was incredible. He was great at communication, and super nice. He sent over instructions to find the inn, and parking ahead of time. He was there to welcome us when we checked in, and offered to help with our luggage. Our room was clean, well decorated and beautiful. We were surrounded by a lot of antiques. The breakfast was amazing. Better than most of the hotels i've stayed in. Luxurious ones included. The staffs were nice and helpful. The area was safe and super walkable. A lot of restaurants in that neighborhood to dine in. I only have good things to say about it. Will come back again. Strongly recommended."

"Only challenge was the waffle machine didn’t work right as no matter how much you sprayed it, it stuck & was incredibly hard to get the waffle off the iron."

"Excellent room with clean and nice bed, bathroom, towels and fridge/mw. Quiet and feels safe. Outsides are clean and safe with green grass to walk my young dog. Good services very close and right off the main road. Staff super nice. Brkfst is modest but they have good hot coffee! A definite keeper. "

"I appreciated the value and the location to Galena, Illinois. This was my second stay here and it proved to be an excellent choice, clean easy to find and great location. I plan to revisit and take advantage of other tourist attractions near this hotel...i.e. Mississippi Museum."
