"To break up our flight from Honolulu to London we decided to spend 2 nights in Portland. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Portland Airport was perfect for our stay. We landed at PDX about 8 pm, contacted the hotel, the shuttle van was there within 10 minutes.
Front desk staff, airport shuttle driver and the staff at the breakfast area were friendly and super helpful!
The location was GREAT. The next morning we decided to take the MAX to downtown Portland, the Mt. Hood Ave station was less than a 3 minute walk from the hotel. On our return back to the hotel we decided to stop at the Cascade Shopping Plaza. The Cascade Station was the next station down the line from Mt. Hood. Instead of taking the MAX back we decided to walk back to the hotel. Depending on which store or restaurant you are at it's about a 10-15 minute walk back to the hotel.
On our check out day, our flight left PDX at 7:30 pm and the BA check in desk didn't open until 4:30 pm. After checking out of the hotel we asked the front desk to hold our luggage which they gladly did. We took the MAX back to downtown Portland to do more exploring, got back to the hotel at 4 pm, got our bags, jumped on the airport shuttle and were at PDX in time to check in for our flight.
