8/10 Good

"We had two issues. First, the HVAC unit ran continuously on a cooling setting. The controls did not work so we were chilly the whole time. Turns out there was a wall thermostat that overrode the controls on the unit Second, the hotel description listed a buffet breakfast at a fixed price beginning at 6. We got up and went there only to find that the time had been changed to 7. When we returned at 7, there was no buffet. The menu was ala carte and if you added in the usual items from a buffet, like juices, coffee and tea, yogurts or fruits, the cost was much higher than the advertised buffet."

"The shuttle took 65 minutes, not 30 as advertised. A/C unit did not work, even after 2 phone calls to the desk. So had a horrible, musky hot nights rest. No need for a peep hole on the door, there was a space between the door and the wall that I could see the hall way!! I am not exaggerating. I refer you to the pictures. The toilet worked, but very odd. It is an industrial/ commercial toilet that you'd see in a warehouse. The shower spicket where water came out to fill the bath I could pull away from the wall 2". The shower head which was connected to the spicket, I could do the same thing!! I couldn't help but wonder about the mold that must be growing behind the bathroom walls. Because of all these issues, I definitely could not trust the sheets. So I had to slept in my clothes on top of comforter. This is advertised as a 3 star. I guess can give it a 1/2 star because it was better than sleeping on the sidewalk outside. But, that's the only reason it gets 1/2 star and 0 stars. For your own safety and health, I'd avoid this place like you would avoid the plaque."

"The staff was very helpful and nice. When I arrived at Eaglewood Resort and spa, I needed some cough drops, which the store there didn't have, so one of the managers had some personal ones and gave me some. I also had a medical emergency, the staff was very helpful before, during, and after the emergency. The staff treated me like a family member. The room I was in was very quiet, great insulation. I went to the grill and bar for dinner and had a cesar salad. What I got was the best salad I have ever had, and again the staff was great, kind, and friendly. I plan to stay at this place every time I am in Chicago again."
