"My family's first trip to Hawaii, we were excited for what we hoped would be an unforgettable vacation. Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing and did not live up to the expectations by the hotel's website The issues started at check-in. Since our room was not ready, we were offered an early check-in to a different room for nearly $100 per day. For a five-day stay, that additional cost felt excessive, so we declined. We were eventually assigned Room D1281 in the Diamond Tower, but the room was far from thay, It felt dark, outdated, and poorly maintained. The walls were chipped and dirty, there was noticeable dust throughout the room, the lighting was inadequate, and the toilet handle would frequently get stuck. Even the drinking glasses appeared unclean.
During our stay, housekeeping serviced the room once per our request, but we were left without shower towels and had to request them. One of the pillows had a stain and also needed to be replaced. The peeling paint on the doors and overall condition of the room made it feel neglected. The hallways were no better, with some window handles held together by duct tape. building called the "Diamond Tower," the experience felt anything but premium. The photos on the website were misleading. Unless you book a newer tower or know exactly which section to request, the accommodations may not match what is advertised. Overall, I left disappointed."
"The property is convenient to Waikiki Beach and the International Market but is showing a bit of age compared to other hotels in the area. That said it is a very clean hotel. Beds could be more comfortable but that is personal preference. Pool is very small for the size of the hotel but poolside food/ bev/ service is excellent. You must try the Lava Sangria! Concierge at Blue Hawaiian was helpful in booking a last minute excursion due to a closure at Hanauma Bay and had great dinner recommendations. A very walkable area and Lyft/Uber access is quick despite heavier traffic. Tucker and Bevvy is a cute onsite cafe for breakfast with more affordable coffee selections but tends to operate a bit slower. Still worth it if the buffet is not for you or Eggs and Things is a popular local diner just a block or two away. Having beach towels and beach chairs available is convenient. We didn’t use many hotel amenities just because there’s so much to do and see in the area but many are available. Check in was quick and easy."
"We checked in after dark. All parking up front was full so I stopped our rental near the entrance. I came out from checking in to find the lot attendant screaming at my family in the van. Very unacceptable. I would not stay here again because of her!"
