Heartland Inn
4/10 Poor
"My recent stay at the Heartland Inn in Fairfax, Iowa, was a very mixed experience. On the positive side, the check-in process was super easy, and the staff was good to deal with. The complimentary breakfast was actually great, and the hotel is situated near some excellent local food options, which was very convenient. However, the building and rooms leave a lot to be desired. Upon arrival, our initial impression was concerning—the stucco exterior walls are heavily stained from the AC units, and the whole property looks more like an old retirement or care facility that was converted into a hotel. The card reader on the exterior entrance was literally wrapped in black duct tape. Inside, the carpeting is very old, dark, and outdated. Our room was smaller than expected and had a slight hint of mold to it. The AC unit didn't help the atmosphere, as it seemed to just dump a lot of humidity into the room. Additionally, our in-room refrigerator didn't work at all. To make matters worse, we didn't get much rest because there were loud occupants in the adjacent room and the hallway all through the night. Overall, while the staff, location, and breakfast were bright spots, the physical condition of the hotel and the lack of a quiet night's sleep made for a disappointing stay. We left a day early due to the conditions."

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Coralville, IA
2/10 Terrible
"Our room had a moldy, musty smell....Our sinuses were a mess by morning and we barely got any sleep. The air conditioning didn't work very well and the fridge didn't either. The bathroom counter was all chipped up and the furniture in our suite was dirty and worn."

Riverside Casino & Golf Resort
6/10 Okay
"At check in, noise from water feature was so loud the receptionist and I had to shout at each other. To get to the converence center it was necessary to walk some distance throgh smoke filled casino. Buffet open only Thurs-Sun leaving only fance dinning or snack bar as options. Wait staff and service in fancy dinning slow and did not seem experienced, needing reminding what servicing pieces were needed."

Drury Inn & Suites Iowa City Coralville
10/10 Excellent
"Both the kickback meal and breakfast were excellent and saved us money by not having to eat out. The extra perks of unlimited soda and popcorn make the money spent on our room an even better value. Our room was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for checking out the area. We would definitely stay here again if in Iowa city area in the future."

SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Coralville Iowa City
6/10 Okay
"So the bed was clean, every thing else was used up and stained. Makeup smudges on the hairdryer, which made me wonder about other surfaces. Room smelled like someone had cooked something fragrant in there, could only open the window 6” to try and air it out. Fine for a quick stay, it was quiet and well priced, perfectly mediocre."
