Hilton Garden Inn Islip/MacArthur Airport
10/10 Excellent
"Nice room"

Radisson Hotel Hauppauge-Long Island
4/10 Poor
"I reserved a king-sized bedroom. Upon check in they said they didn't have any left, that my reservation was only "a request"?!!! My 6'5" husband's feet dangled off the bed, and we had to sleep in separate beds! We had nowhere else to go as it was raining, and we had an event to get to shortly after we arrived.
When we returned, we discovered that the television was not hooked up to any network, and we needed more towels. I called the front desk several times from THEIR phone with no answer. I then called the hotel directly from my cell phone and was put on hold for 15-20 minutes. I got dressed to walk down through the awfully smelling hallway (still on hold) to ask the front desk for assistance. Eventually, I was met by the hotel rep. I explained that I was on hold for quite a while, he said I must have dialed the wrong number - my phone clearly read Radisson - Hauppage? Regardless, they did fix the TV and provided fresh towels, it was just unpleasant getting it resolved.
Room was clean, and they had a nice lounge area which we did not use, beds were creaky and we did not have a comfortable sleep due to the incorrect room issue. The snack stand was closed each time we were in the lobby. The staff was less than pleasant.
I would make sure to call ahead to confirm your room type before heading out!"

"This hotel was a nightmare.. check in Sonia was not polite at all attitude and tried to tell me that we couldn’t do two card split payments she had an attitude check in took over 20 minutes she kept looking over to the front desk supervisor for help but she was to busy playing with a cat was also very rude for a supervisor our first room had mold in it the shower pole was hanging off the wall and water was coming out of the shower the man at the front desk was also very rude the only friendly faces in that entire hotel were Melinda and Juan they would be better running that place it’s a joke drive further out and go to the location in center reach. "The hotel is dated and shabby. Having been to the property several times since it opened (40 some years ago) I can attest that the property has not been updated since then. Furniture in the rooms had wear holes on the arms with stuffing showing through. Bathroom sinks were cracked. Bath tubs needed resurfacing. Wooden furniture was chipped and cracked. Tile floors in the lobby had cracks and holes as if struck by a hammer. The carpets in the room were vacuumed a total of 1 time in an 8 day stay. Housekeeping needs to be requested, and even then was hit or miss. When we first walked into the bathroom there was trash on the floor from the previous occupant. They have the audacity to charge a mandatory $75 a night fee for 'incidentals' even though my quoted price stated 'incl taxes and fees'. Luggage carts were never available making it difficult to get things from your car to the room. For the rates they charge you per night there are better options, possibly at better prices."
