"The general cleanliness and condition of this hotel was poor. The floor of the room was sloping and was quite dissorientating when walking into the bathroom. In the bathroom, the shower curtain was stained and looked unclean. The wastebin looked very poor with a rusted lid. Bathroom floor not very clean and the grouting was missing from the corners of the bath. The paint was peeling of the inside of the windowsill. "Turned up to find our key out on a table, with our name and details where to find the room Everyone else who was staying also had their keys laid out with names/room details. No-one available to speak to, in-person, at check-in. We were in the family room, at the back/outside of the property. Whole room smelt of grease due to the chip shop adjoining the hotel. "Comfy, clean and quiet room, which was very quiet even when the pub was busy. Food also delicious."

The rooms and areas were a bit tired looking and worn, for example the towels were scraggy, there was no where to hang a towel in the bathroom, the lock on the bathroom door was dodgy, but the hotel staff in all areas from reception to the spa and the bistro were extremely friendly and professional. "Wagon was in a lovely location on a farm and owner was very nice, once I managed to find the farm , but checking in time or instructions would have been helpful . Bed was comfortable and I did appreciate the tea, sugar and milk provided , but the room itself was quite cold -with one tiny inadequate heater . Bathroom was also very cold and smelled very damp and unfortunately the toilet seat was loose and shooting off to one side. "

"I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). "
