sehr sehr netter Inhaber, sehr hilfsbereit!

nettes kleines Hotel etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum. Dieses ist super zu Fuß erreichbar. Der Pool im Hotel ist sehr angenehm und die Lage ist sehr ruhig, toll zum entspannen! Der Inhaber ist total witzig und man kann sich nett mit ihm unterhalten.

Excellent value for money, and a wonderful host!

This place honestly has become my home away from home. I'm not much the touristy type, and my job allows me to telework. This is the perfect place, especially for the price, to have a wonderful vacation, or even have one of those Branson-esque periods of just living on a beautiful tropical island. It's closer to town then other reasonably priced hotels, less than a km to the beach, quick ride by motorbike is how I prefer it. Plus Steve, the owner of Chaulty, is just a wonderful guy! He's got his share of stories, and takes care of all the services, including laundry, rides to and from airport, always around when you need him. Importantly, he's also mindful of your time. Never an obligation, he let's you come and go as you please and, although I love his wonderful company, I never feel pressured to get bogged down in conversation - which is not always the case with such intimate hotels. Every chat we have is natural and great. Since my job usually involved a lot of networking and schmoozing, I gotta tell ya, during a vacation, that's a big relief. This place has 6 rooms, a very nice and well maintained pool, and is honestly, my secret awesome spot.

Nice friendly small Hotel

Exceptional Stay

Booked two nights, stayed two weeks. Room is very large with a comfortable bed and cozy bedding. Quite air conditioning. The shower is 3/4 glass enclosed unlike some Thai hotels. Fast internet. Great hospitality.

Good Quiet Hotel

A nice quiet hotel in a good location. Just outside the main tourist area, but close enough to be able to walk to the shops and beach. All the rooms are located around a pleasant swimming pool creating a good relaxed atmosphere. Good sized room with tv, kettle and storage. Would stay again.

Accueil et séjour chez Chaulty comme à la maison

Nous avons passé 10 nuits. Super accueil du patron et de son personnel. On s’y sent comme à la maison en toute simplicité. Piscine très coquette Chambre très bien, tout le confort. Wifi extra. Le seul petit bémol qui pourrait avoir c’est la promiscuité et le bruit le soir que peuvent faire vos voisins. Mais à minuit c’est extinction des feux. A recommander très fortement. A 500 m du centre de Lamai. Vraiment bien situé.

A great place to stay in Hat Lamai

My wife and I were looking for a place to spend our 8 days on Koh Samui and when I read all the reviews on Chaulty Towers why would we stay elsewhere. I really have to agree with all the other very positive reviews and don't want to just repeat them. You don't get those reviews by accident. You earn them. The room we had was large with a sitting area and a deck that was next to the pool. The deck had a sun lounger, table and 2 chairs. We used all of these on offer. The cleaning staff do a super job and this was probably the cleanest place we stayed in while traveling in Malaysia and Thailand. The pool is a real bonus. All the good things said about Steve and his wife are true. They are great hosts. Steve did offer to drive us to and from the beach and Lamai area but my wife and I are walkers and prefer the exercise. Chaulty Towers is a distance from the beach action but with this you get a quiet sleep. One bit of advice if you stay here is to carry a light while walking at night. There is considerable traffic and you need to be seen not to get hit. We did just that and had no problems. high standard for the price

standard molto alto per questa guesthouse, a questo prezzo è veramente il meglio che ho trovato durante tre settimane in Thailandia. l'unico svantaggio, come si vede controllando google maps, è la posizione non centralissima (20 min a piedi da Lamai Beach). si risolve presto noleggiando un motorino (altamente consigliato a Koh Samui se si vuole raggiungere le poche spiagge più carine e meno affollate), potete farlo direttamente al Chaulty a un prezzo competitivo e evitando i rischi di noleggiarlo con una compagnia thailandese. concludendo complimenti al proprietario Steve per il posticino che è riuscito a creare! very high standard for the price paid, definitely the best value for money in 3 weeks in Thailand! as you can see from Google Maps, the only drawback is the position, which is not that central (about 20 min walk from Lamai Beach). I suggest renting a motorbike (which is actually a must on Koh Samui, if you want to get to the few nicer and quieter beaches), the owner Steve offers a very good price for that and you can avoid all the risks you have when renting a motorbike with some Thai companies.. all in all great compliments to Steve for the wonderful place he runs!

Friendly, Welcoming and Clean

Chaulty Towers is a hidden gem. Steve picked us up at the airport and even though our flight was delayed by 40 minutes he patiently waited for us. Steve drove us around in Lamai showing us around where all the hot spots are and eating places. This really helped us to get oriented. We stayed in room 2, a deluxe room. The room and bathroom was clean and ready for us on arrival. It had air conditioning and a fan. A fridge, coffee/tea making facilities and stereo. It is by no means 5 star hotel but it has everything you need to be comfortable. The room gets cleaned every day. The laundry lady across the road came in very hand and their prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent! We enjoyed our stay and should we ever be fortunate enough to come to Koh Samui again, we will stay at Chaulty Towers. The WiFi connection was stable and strong. Don't judge a book by its cover

I had a wonderful time at chaulty towers, I first booked 3 nights and ended up booking 5 nights more. This place has every thing you need. What makes this place more enjoyable it's Steven and his wife. Steven is the guy who will tell you about best places to go in the island, he will take you to best places and you will be treated like a VIP. Steven will be sitting all day long by the pool, ready to give you a ride wherever you want, ready to give you answers to all your questions. His wife will provide you with tasty, fresh and homemade meals. To be honest with you, I felt I was in my home.

Fantastic!

This place is absolutely brilliant. The room was clean, spacious and well equiped. Food was great. The guy who runs the place was so helpful and showed me around, and even invited me out for dinner with him and his friends. Such a great place, I highly recommend you stay here

Dreckig!!

Die Zimmer sind sehr schmutzig und schimmlig. Das Wasser im Bad stinkt nach Schimmel...zum Zähneputzen nicht geeignet. Besser woanders hingehn.

Best place to stay in Ko Samui

This is by far the best place to stay on Ko Samui Island. The hotel is beautiful, like an italien villa. With balconies overlooking the pool. Very good, safe location, and a short walk to the market area and beach. Steve the host is amazing. He gave us shuttle rides too. He showed us all the best places to eat at the market. He makes a great breakfast in the mornings too. If anyone I knew was ever planning a trip to Ko Samui Island, I would make sure they stayed here. Nice authentic decor and woodwork in the rooms as well.

Nice Guest House

Its a clean, wide room, with AC, tv, clean bathroom and hot water. A really good thing is that you can rent a motorbike to the owner so you can go anywhere. The breakfast is aditional to the cost of the room, and you have like 8 different options to choose. Steven is very pleasant and gave us a short tour arround town for us to get familiar to the place, which was very nice. Its located in Lamai and this location which is not the best town for party, all the fun is happening at Chaweng which is at 10 minutes by motorbike.

Great place to stay in Lamai, Koh Samui

Great place to stay!! Accommodation is great for the price; nice, clean and spacious too. Steve was an amazing host - has great knowledge of what to do and where to go to do it - fountain of information! Had a good couple of nights out with him and friends - quite the entertainer too, himself and his lead guitarist buddy Noi are great on the guitars and play a few of the local bars too. If your going to Lamai - give Chaulty Towers a try.
