"Great location "

"This was my second stay for a business trip. All the staff were very kind and polite. The rooms were simple yet had a distinctly British feel and were very clean, making them very comfortable. However, because the building is old, you can often hear footsteps from the upstairs and the floor creaking. Also, I personally found the fixed showerhead, rather than a handheld one, inconvenient. Aside from that, it's a wonderful hotel."

"Excellent location if arriving by train at Kings Cross but also very quiet inside the hotel. The rooms and furnishings are beautiful and the breakfast room is a delight as was the food itself. The hotel does have an unusual layout though, some of the side lounges look lovely but aren’t very accessible, I’d have liked to see drinks served in those areas from the posh cocktail bar but it didn’t seem to be open: maybe you can but nobody told us? "A very warm welcome and early check-in which was much appreciated. Check-in was highly efficient. Doormen were very friendly and eager to assist. If anything, front of house service was a little overbearing. I fully appreciate that staff are striving to deliver the most attentive service, but at times it felt more intrusive rather than helpful.
