"I don’t recommend this property. You have to walk 20 minutes to the hotel from the main lobby or take a tram. The tram is up to a 15 minute wait with several stops. If you have an excursion to get too, this could delay your arrival. The rooms are split between owner occupied or hotel. The hotel side is old decor with popcorn ceilings. Not pictured on their website. The owner occupied rooms are a little nice but we had to be moved three times due to faulty air conditioning. Staff was NOT helpful...

"I would give a higher rating but there were construction noises everyday since our first day in the room next door. I asked my elderly mother if we should request another room but she said that would be difficult for her to pack and move again. My suggestion is to advise the guest at the front desk before they unpack that there is construction in the next room so they are informed and offered a room with no construction going on next door and comp the guest or refund if its a downgrade. "Ants in the covers, killed a roach in the bathroom, pay 15.00 per day to park! Room was not cleaned until 4pm!! Laundry machine would not take credit card, Apple Pay, and attended stated, keep trying, after you have put clothes and soap in the washer! Birds flying in breakfast area, not to mention the breakfast was somewhat ok, but pancake machine spit out dough not pancakes! None of the vending machines worked! Staff wasn’t helpful always had to say they’ll speak to the manager."

"The Fairmont is likely as good of a “Resort” property as one could find. I am not a fan of Resorts, But when in Hawaii it is difficult to not stay in one. Fairmont is well presented, certainly not a value proposition, but nicely done. Good food, Bars, Pool, etc. shower in the bathtub was far better than the separate shower. Facility does need some paint and refreshing. Grounds and Location are beautiful. I like Fairmont Hotels and they are a brand I seek out, when traveling."

"Our 1st evening, we had some problems with getting food. The poolside restaurant had to close early and the bar restaurant ran out of pizza. I’m sure it was an unusual problem, but we didn’t have dinner that night coming in from a long travel day from Texas. All other meals were great, especially breakfast buffet which was outstanding."
