Loved the location of being nearer the old side of Kyoto. Spacious lobby was lovely along with rooftop bar. Balance between sympathetic design and modern luxury. Breakfast was excellent and very varied to others we had in Japan. Room was good and a generous size. Ground floor didn’t have much light but that was okay as we were out all day. The place to go if you want the feel of Ryokan but want the modern amenities. Each room is gorgeous, and so well thought down to the tiniest detail. Would put it at the level of the Four Seasons or Park Hyatt. The wooden gated entry to every room, with its own rock garden makes it feel like you are coming home. The welcome locally made sweets and tea/cold towels at check in are some of the touches that make the place special. The only downside is the lack of a proper gym.

Had Japanese breakfast which was very tasty. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. Room was comfy. Location great.

Did not use either of the facilities

Stayed in the Pokémon room - fantastic experience for our 11 year old (and us). Very spacious room with dining table, sofa and bunk beds. Not a huge amount within walking distance of the hotel (although Teamlabs is a couple of minutes away), but as the name suggests it’s extremely convenient for the station and transport links. Convenient laundry room but no vending machines on site - 7-eleven is just around the corner.

A wonderful stay. Situated in a quiet quarter but close to travel links - this made for a perfect base for our 4 days in Kyoto. The room was ideal with a lovely view and Kevin was simply excellent (even helping with onward travel arrangements). We hope to stay again if we are lucky enough to return - thank you.

Very clean and convenient hotel. The room was spacious and the facilities excellent. Breakfast at the hotel was good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of good restaurants and dining options nearby as well.

Very modern Japanese aesthetic with traditional service. Very hard to fault, very helpful staff, great food choices and extraordinarily clean.

We spent 05 nights in Imagine Hotel Kyoto from 21 to 26 Dec 2025. A cozy and warm space near the Grand Kyoto Station and Avanti Kyoto Shopping Mall. Great Hotel crew especially Axe helping us with our queries. The shared lounge is amazing where we cooked our breakfast there daily. The owner himself met us on our 2nd day, and wish us to have a great stay in his hotel. Overall a very nice place for family, which include my wife and 03 kids (age 13 to 17). -Reception staff were a bit aloof. -Staff in the restaurant where breakfast was served, were very friendly and helpful. - Guest lounge is spacious and relaxing, you can help yourself with a drink (hot or cold) while planning for your day. - Room is very clean - Location is perfect, it’s just opposite to the station with many amenities nearby - Breakfast is not to be missed - Will stay in this hotel again

Great location just 5 minutes walk from Kyoto train/subway station. Excellent hub for exploring the different parts of the city. Room was big and comfy. Had pajamas included. Really nice onsen and sauna on the top floor.
