"The room was clean and perfect for our trip. Having it so close to the subway entrance was super helpful we didn’t take a single Uber the whole trip. There were cute coffee shops, spas, organic grocery stores, and cafes all within walking distance. The staff were all kind and helpful. They make a point to be a more sustainable hotel and you can actually see proof of that in a bunch of little ways that I appreciated while staying there."

"The Modernist Hotel has been one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. It was very clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I love the room I had as well-it was aesthetically pleasing. "What a great find! The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was larger than expected for the NYC area. Great location close to Greenpoint. Area was very walkable. Rooftop area is lovely. We didn’t eat/drink there, but on a nice day that would have been very nice. We will definitely stay there again."

Even though we were out everyday day, it was a pleasure to return to a fresh, spotless room each evening. It definitely made our stay much more enjoyable. "I had a four-hour drive to get to this hotel, and unfortunately my experience upon arrival was very disappointing. The front desk staff were rude when I was trying to explain a situation that I was confused about. Instead of listening and helping, the front desk manager put his hand in my face, which I found extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I am old enough to be their parent, and the level of disrespect I received was unacceptable. Customer service should be courteous and respectful,...
