We had such a great experience at Eco Arenal. We stayed for 5 nights as a family with three kids and it was perfect. The room was very clean, shower was very modern, beds were comfortable, and we never got tired of the many options available at the daily breakfast. The hotel is an oasis, just close enough to bustle of La Fortuna and all the activities but remote enough where you wake up to the sounds of the monkeys and can see plethora of birds flying around.

My favorite thing was the birds at breakfast. They feed them so there were a lot of beautiful birds to watch. The breakfast was sparce as they ran out of a lot of things due to a big crowd. The room was fine although we had to park in a muddy parking lot.

Loved everything about our stay. The cabin was perfect for Hearing howler monkeys at 4:00am. Birding tour with JP was outstanding. Staff were all helpful. Meals were delicious and loved all the birds at the feeders while we ate breakfast. Missed it the minute we drove away!

The hotel is lovely! Considering it’s a two star hotel - the amenities, breakfast, territory, staff are great. The owner is welcoming and attentive to any requests. We stayed with two kids for five nights. It wasn’t the most comfortable bed. Overall it was a great stay and perfect location away from busy area so you feel in nature, but short drive ( 5 min) to downtown La Fortuna.

We enjoyed our stay here. Good price. Staff was great. Very easy check in. Good location on outskirts of town but close to town. If you are in to birds there are a LOT here. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean and good sized. Plenty of parking. WiFi was fast and easy to connect. The things to make note of, and this is common across most hotels in Costa Rica, is the bathroom situation. You can not flush anything. So be aware of this when visiting. The only thing we found odd and only inconvenience was the shower. It is in the room, not in the bathroom, and has a see thru glass door. This is fine if you are a traveling couple but we were a traveling family. The weather was amazing our whole trip so we just hung out by the pool while someone was using the shower. We will be making a few more trips to the area and will definitely consider staying here again.

The owner was amazing and takes pride in what she has accomplished with this facility and it shows. Balcony views allowed us to hear and be submerged with nature itself with howler monkeys close enough and can be heard morning and night. Excursions and restaurants are close by and made it convenient.

Great place for a few nights in La Fortuna

Great place to stay for a few nights in La Fortuna. Hotel is 3-star, so wasn't expecting the Ritz... rooms were clean, everything worked as advertised, breakfast was good. Location was great - we liked that it wasn't directly downtown (we had a car) so it was nice and quiet. Would stay again if back in La Fortuna.

It definitely fits the eco designation as the plants and trees are beautiful and the birds are numerous. The only slight disappointment was the bed being very soft. I still slept very well. We will stay here again when we come back to the area.

Great place to stay in la fortuna

Great service very friendly and 6 mins from la fortuna. Good pickup spot for tours. They have a fantastic breakfast and a BBQ place across the street. Amazing ac in room will full cable service. Beds are between hard and soft but very quite at night. Right next to a small creek and tons of wildlife all around
