"This was a really great boutique hotel for adults only. The rooms were very clean and modern. They could use a little more light, especially in the bathrooms. "Everything was very nice overall, and we really enjoyed our stay. The only downside was that there wasn’t a designated smoking area on the property. Guests who want to enjoy a cigar and a drink have to walk off the property, and the designated area is quite far away. I think it would be a great improvement if the property could allocate a comfortable outdoor area where guests can enjoy a drink and a cigar without having to leave the property. "Everything about this place was amazing. The staff, the gardens, and the wildlife were all top notch! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants a luxurious resort feel with exceptional staff. The only downside to our experience was that we paid for the delux river bungalow but there was no view of the river from our room at all. If I would have known that, I would have been fine with the garden bungalows because it was the same view. Other than that, we truly enjoyed our stay...

"Excellent stay. Food is ok…breakfast and dinner are not that great but breakfast is free. Dinner is not. Other than that, once you hike the volcano and check out the waterfall, there isn’t much else to do in the town so the resort is the most exciting thing to do and will be a highlight of your trip. Let them take you on a sightseeing tour and they’ll spot animals for you that you wouldn’t otherwise see. Horseback riding, coffee tours, etc. truly impeccable place. if they improved the food...

"The property was just okay. They did keep it clean, however, the use of fragrance in the room was far too generous. We had to air the room out for a solid 24 hours and were scared to get the room serviced for fear they would spray more scent. The breakfast was also fairly mediocre and the service varied widely from day to day. The front desk both checking in and out were less friendly than other properties we stayed at on Costa Rica. Overall, not bad, but also wouldn’t stay here again."

"Hotel Boutique Casa del Río was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip! Nestled in the heart of the rainforest, the property is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for nature lovers. Our room was beautiful, and waking up to the soothing sound of the rushing river each morning was incredibly peaceful.
