"Hotel Sanctuarium is truly a sanctuary. The property is grand and meticulously cared for. Surrounded by tropical jungles, views of the mountains and the valley below, it was by far the best place to stay for our trip to La Fortuna. And it is only a 7 minute drive to the heart of downtown. "Lovely quiet area to stay. We speak very little Spanish, they were so willing and patient with communication. The porch area was lovely. We enjoyed rocking and having an evening drink. There is a small store about a mile away. We went to bed early and were so surprised that 4 other couples were there for breakfast. Breakfast was a “typical” and very good. "

"We were warmly greeted on our arrival by super-helpful Felipe. We had an early start our first morning and asked if a 6am breakfast (90 minutes before breakfast is usually served) would be possible.
