Not recommended

This hotel was clearly past its prime. While colorful and initially pleasing it became very clear that there were problems with our room: termite frass fell freely from the ceiling on the bathroom sink; the bathtub needed recoating or replacement; the room was too cold but the AC did not have knobs to turn down the temp; army ants marched in under the AC, but for the 98% deet we would not be able to walk at night on the floors. The owner's wife seemed less than interested in us as her guests - we felt unwelcome.

We arrived and were told they didn't like Expedia customers in December. We told them we booked in August. They said they didn't get paid by Expedia till after we checked in. We then got 2 rooms with no air conditioning. After an argument with the owner, he finally agreed to put an ac in only one of our rooms. The bed sheets looked like they were 2 decades old with stains and rips in all beds. Both TV's in the rooms did not even turn on. When taking a shower, the pressure dropped to nothing while other rooms were using water. The hot tub was not filled. The hand soap in one room wasn't filled. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi didn't work unless you were in the lobby. Breakfast is NOT included here and is not available like the listing says. There is water damage all over the place. We booked and paid for 3 nights and we checked out after 1 night. I would highly discourage anybody from booking here. It is NOT like the listing or pictures.

Beware

One of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had. Room was not as shown on reservation. Tv didn't work, a/c didn't work. At the desk, they said room had no tv or a/c, which is why we went to the front desk. The printed reservation showed flat screen tv & a/c with 2 beds. There was only 1. They were very difficult. Finally, they said we'd get a different room the next day. It did have 2 beds, 1 pushed up against where clothes would be hung, if you could rach over the head board. TV in this roomd didn't work either. At that point, we left and paid to stay at a different hotel. Hotels.com could not get them to respond at all regarding a refund. Hotels.com was helpful. This hotel doesn't seem to deal in good faith.

Barato y realmente malo excepto por la ubicación

El hotel está muy viejo. No salía agua caliente. Tuvimos que pedir el papel higiénico y las toallas. Las personas en la recepción eran sumamente apáticas e indiferentes. Educados pero sin ganas de hacernos sentir bienvenidos y cómodos.

Disappointed

First of all the photos on hotel.com is very misleading as to the actual hotel. There is no casino. When we arrived they did not have any water for washing hands or in the toilet to flush. No towels in the room. The amenities were not available either. The television did not work and when they did turn on the water there was not hot water. They gave us a pair of pliers to turn off and on the air conditioner. The hot tub was not working and the safe was broken

Fatal...alquilé 2 habitaciones #19 y #20...y la última sobretodo tiene los Pisos de los baños sucios, detrás del sanitario el piso está negro,por falta de aseo con cloro...el colchón de la cama con un hueco , no sirven las camas suenan demasiado, un televisor de los viejo no estaba conectado, y no había toma corriente para ponerlo, cable de los canales estaba desconectado, el aire acondicionado es de los de ventana y prácticamente ya no enfría...en realidad muy decepcionada, puesto que las fotografías que muestran en la página de Hoteles.com son publicidad engañosa.

Del restaurante y la atencion de los personales no tengo ninguna queja, pero en referente los habitaciones.... 😡😡🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️ El habitacion que me toco no tenia agua en la ducha y el lavamano. Y el otro habiatacion no tenia agua en el inodoro, en otras palabras las habitaciones tienen mucho de que mejorar

el aire acondicionado era muy muy viejo y sonaba muy duro y no contaba con todas las perillas.. el baño tenía 2 gradas muy peligrosas que había que bajar, cualquiera que abriera la puerta por primera vez podría caerse.. únicamente utilizamos para dormir.. tiene buen parqueo.

This hotel is severely outdated, offers no hot water, and the on-site restaurant is poor. The rooms were clean, but the beds are terribly uncomfortable. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hell!

Just Don't! Paid an extra $25 Canadian and stayed at somewhere fabulous the following night. I can't even suggest it would make the mark for an hourly hotel! One star at best by Canadian standards. Better yet, it would likely not pass an inspection. Run down with little effort being made to improve. Broken everything. Thread bare curtains. Peeli g and chipped paint. Bathroom fixtures disgusting. No hand towels or bathmat but didn't matter as we slept in our clothes on top of the sheets. Wasn't even taking a chance on breakfast. Would have moved to a hostel which I am certain would be a huge improvement, but they were full. YUK...JUST YUK!

Absolutely no security. Securìty box in room did not work. Gaps in door jam allowed me to unlock the door to my room using a tourist brochure instead of my key. First night there were no blankets on the bed or towels in the washroom. Garbage was not removed for entire stay and the room was not cleaned or bed made after the 2nd day. Several power outages kept the A/C from working at times. Good location in town, quiet at night. Lots of hot water. Large room with desk to sit at, unfortunately no lights other than one in centre of ceiling.

Location in La Fortuna was good, but that was about it. The room was hot and muggy, mainly because the air conditioner was old and broken. There was only one knob for the 3-different controls, so I had to pry the knob off every time I wanted to adjust the speed or temperature. There was no shower head, so taking a shower was like standing under a garden hose. There were no towel racks in the bathroom either, so there was no place to hang your wet clothes. Also, there was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. What kind of a hotel doesn’t even provide small vials of shampoo?!!? The owner was very visible, and he kept telling me how he was going to get all new air conditioners and upgrades for the rooms. Well, that obviously didn’t help our current situation. The WiFi was extremely weak, and it only worked in the rooms, not in the common area. Finally, I realize that I was in a foreign country, but the person who was at the front desk most of the time couldn’t even speak English. That made it very difficult to ask for recommendations for local restaurants, or to have someone call the Tour Companies to confirm reservations and pick-up times. Honestly, the pictures on their website are extremely misleading. Until all the improvements are completed, I would avoid this hotel.
