Great place to stay. Nice and clean, bed was VERRY COMFORTABLE. I caught a nice sized bass out of their fishing lake. FANTASTIC for star-gazing. Has Texas Longhorn, bulls and cows that make nice photos. Owner very nice and accommodating, treated us nice and very respectful.
Night Bird ranch is a beautiful and quiet ranch and made for a perfect getaway. The facilities are very nice and the hospitality is top notch. Garth the dog is a great host and made our stay all the better. We would definitely stay here again.
I can't imagine an experience better than what we had. The property is off the beaten path and we loved that. The host is amazing, the room was perfect and sitting on the porch in the mornings and afternoons was spectacular. I hope we have the chance to stay here again.
Our stay was fantastic! The owners went out of their way to ensure we had everything needed and it was a great place to unwind and get away. Simple, yet attention to details.
The room we stayed was really lovely. We had a great time especially with the dogs and donkeys, and the scenery. The host was very helpful and accommodating. It was a very relaxing place.
I was riding the MS 150, so I booked a room for an overnight stay. My experience was basically shower, eat dinner in Round Top and bed, but my wife had a very good time. The owners were very nice and engaging. The dogs were a hoot and very friendly. The horse was friendly as well (according to my wife), but seemed to expect a treat, so when he didn't see anything in her hand, he turned his butt to her. :-D
Will definitely go back again one day to enjoy the scenery and activities.
I love the Night Bird Ranch! It is a little piece of Texas heaven. Its comfortable, cozy, peaceful and quiet. You'll never meet better greeters than Garth and Vera. And, then there's the adorable little donkeys who love to be scratched and patted. Last, but not least, is Kiki's kickin' biscuits and gravy.😍 This really is a special place.

A Night at Night Bird Ranch
If you are looking for a quiet ranch-like setting about three miles out a dirt road, away from all retail centers/restaurants, and absent TV, coffee makers, microwave oven, etc. Night Bird is the place. The rooms are sparse but clean; the proprietor-made biscuits and gravy breakfast good; the atmosphere ranch-like, complete with two friendly dogs.
The setting is rustic, but the country location is close to attractions and amenities in the area: Round Top, La Grange, Schulenburg.
Our room was very comfortable, though not spacious. Our plans took us away from the property during the day, but if you want a place to just relax this would be fine. Our host Kiki worked with our early (4 am!) departure schedule to have a take away breakfast ready for us.
Nothing is fancy, but we enjoyed our stay, the hospitality, and the location. Our breakfasts were good. In nice weather there are plenty of places to be outside, enjoying the day or evening. Dogs onsite are friendly.
Just a short stay in the area, but the Owner's were more than accommodating and even added a few personalized touches to the room. Breakfast was fresh cooked and great as well. Definitely recommend a visit!
The hotel was easy to find with the instructions given. We never saw the hotel staff but that was okay. Homemade breakfast was out in the dining hall and the room was clean when we arrived. The best part was being able to drive just out of the gate to see all the stars.
