"The restaurant was good ,decor was lovely Staff very friendly Breakfast fantastic ,one of the best I have had Room very basic ,but clean .Maybe not all rooms are the same ,we were room 3. Nice touch with tea coffee and biscuits in room Bathroom very good size Bed was uncomfortable Main issue was no sleep from noise from M6 Needs better double glazing Lovely area to walk along canal after breakfast Real downside ,no sleep"

"There seems to be no mobile phone coverage at the County Lodge Carnforth. When I arrived at 8.30pm 25/5 the door was locked shut, the place was in darkness and a note attached to the door said to phone a mobile number to gain code keys and access BUT their number failed to ring. Tried multiple times, including 100m away in 3 directions. A landline number was given on the accommodation door, this also failed to ring. "On arrival we was greeted with a strong smell of damp. There was a lot of spiders and dead and live wood lice all around the house. The live were taken outside and the dead were sucked up the very doggy smelling vacuum cleaner. The sofa smelt of dogs and the sink had stuck on food remnants and dead wood lice. The only good points were: the bed was comfy and the nice touch of a bottle of Prosecco. Would we recommend and stay again? Unfortunately no."
