"Terrible beds and pillows. Really dated. AC (window unit) didn't work until staff came and got it working. Insufficient electrical outlets and the one in the bathroom sparked when we plugged the phone in to charge it."

"They assigned my room when I checked in— and I could see the ocean, so it was nice. It had a Murphy bed— unit small but very comfortable. Full fridge, dishwasher, microwave. Beautiful property and pool and I ate Dukes 3 times. Great island if you can afford it!!"

"Quiet, so peaceful. The staff is helpful and nice. The room is a little bit old but serves the purpose. Beds are surprisingly comfy , water pressure is good. Kauai Inn serves continental breakfast, but I wish they have boiled eggs. Overall our stay was pretty nice."

"Our American airlines flight got cancelled for 9:30 pm on 5/10/26. American ran our of hotel rooms to put us up till the next day do we found this hotel on a search web site. The hotel is very close to the airport which worked out well for us. We were disappointed the cafe is closed on mondays. The hotel was not the greatest but it met our needs. The room was clean and had basic necessities for our stay."

"Banyan Harbor Resort is an old property and has not been kept up. If you have difficulty going up and down 18 steps outside - open to the elements - do not consider this property. And those steps were to get to the first floor rooms. There is not an elevator . And if you had a room on the 2-4th floor- plan on a marathon of outdoor steps. the room we had separate window air conditioners in each room that were very noisy and dirty. Blowing dirty air- as shown by the dirty , dusty curtains above each unit. Plus the motors vibrated the windows. The bathrooms were very dated and one of the toilets was tipsy. The shower head was coming out of the wall and the shower handles were full of black mold. Maybe a fresh coat of paint might have helped covering up the rust. We had a reservation for a king with 1 bathroom and all they had was a two bedroom 2 bath with full size beds. My husband and I were on a romantic vacation and sleeping separately was not in our plans. (TMI) Overall cleanliness was not good and I kept expecting to see bugs but I did not. Linens and towels were old and the pillows were very uncomfortable square shaped and flimsy. Thank goodness we were only spending one night because the property is located near the Lihue airport. We would not recommend staying at this property. Yes, it was convenient to have a kitchen with refrigerator . We had asked if there was shuttle service to the airport and they had told us yes- but that was not true. Plan to Uber. "
