Hmmm. It was okay for a night, a bed for the night… the breakfast was nice…. Unfortunately the room wasn’t that clean, there was stale water in the kettle, the bed’s weren’t comfortable, everything was just a bit tired, old and dusty. I didn’t sleep because someone came into the BUNGALOW WHERE THE ROOM WAS(!) and spoke really loudly on thier phone really late and because the walls were so thin, it literally sounded like they were outside our door. I was staying with my 10 year old daughter and I didn’t feel safe at all. It was a real shame because some things, like the breakfast were nice, but then they’re failing at the basics like a clean, safe room.

Worst ever

High court enforcement officer turned up and closed the restaurant down. Was coming back on the Friday to take control of the bungalow and the house on the side of the restaurant. Breakfast was only served once the whole stay. This is not a hotel it’s a restaurant owner renting rooms in a bungalow and house . Never will I go back I also require a refund for 3 breakfasts that I have been charged for .

Dull dingy accommodation, bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. Whole place needs a major refurbishment, I would not stay here again.

Really unpleasant experience

The hotel is advertised as family friendly but on arrival it was clear this isn’t really the case. The stairs up to the standard double rooms are steep and there’s a small stepped landing with steps up and down to the shared bathroom, definitely not suitable for small children and very difficult to carry bags up and down. The stay was a very reasonable price but the neighbours were so antisocial, and so noisy, that we couldn’t sleep or get any access to the shared bathroom. I turned the shower on to wash my daughter and by the time I’d returned with a towel there was a man making a mess at the sink! I messaged the host at midnight via hotels.com to let them know but nothing was done about it. A member of hotel staff also woke my daughter up at 9:50pm banging on our door with an extra duvet, which was for someone else. The traffic noise was unbearable and we hardly slept. I was surprised as assumed the countryside location would be peaceful, but it turns out the hotel is on the main road which is busy even on Sunday night and at 4am. The window was very draughty and the room was so small you couldn’t move the bed away from it. The central heating was broken and the room had a portable electric heater on the floor. We left at 6:45am and couldn’t face staying for breakfast. Some of the reviews made it sound like a safe bet but our experience was really bad. As a couple you might put up with it but with children in tow this place is a definite no-go.

Appalling

The place was filthy. Dust on bedside tables and lamps look uncleaned in weeks. Kettle leaked and had to be replaced. Impossible to adjust hot water for showers and could not get water into the bath. Appreciating it was an old building but it looks like not one penny has ever been spent on it. TV didn’t work properly and just dropped out. Unfortunately I would be telling anyone considering staying here to go anywhere else

Nice room poor breakfast experience

The room although small had everything we needed including bottled water and biscuits The breakfast experience was not so good left waiting for 10 minutes before the breakfast came that was only just warm no bacon we then had to ask for drinks and toast not a pleasant experience you expect to be offered and given a choice as soon as you sit down not have to ask for everything we never bothered the second day it’s a shame as apart from that it was nice

Disaster

Arrived to find a Curry house which seconded as a reception. I was shown to a room in a cottage across the road where we could park outside. The room was really small, only a single size not two beds squashed inside. The breakfast was not very edible with no bacon in their 'Full English'. The service was poor as the hosts could not speak fluent English and this showed when the car park flooded leaving us marooned in the cottage with no escape except through a foot of standing water. After getting soaking feet, I told the staff and after numerous shrugging of the shoulders, a pallet was found and placed near the doorway so the the cars could be backed up and other guests escape. It is obviously a common problem as locals informed me. The hotel should not be placing guests inside the cottage until it is sorted. Finally, there is no bar, and with the next door pub temporary shut, nowhere to go on the evening.

4 stars????????????????

The room had been sprayed and was overpowering. The mattress was not comfortable as it was not supportive. My room was on the ground floor and dual aspect, in fortunately both run along side a busy road so the room was noisy until around midnight. Breakfast service started at 8am so no good for me as I had to be at work. I looked but couldn’t see any smoke detectors in my room. All in all. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Great BnB

The staff are superb, so helpful, they are also a very good Indian restaurant so you need to try the food. Only two complaints (neither are the fault of the BnB) first night a fan was left on somewhere downstairs, this gets surprisingly annoying when it’s peaceful. Night two, the couple next door had their television on loud all night. But don’t let that put you off, the BNB is very good.

Fab place

Very comfortable bed and pillows. Lovely room and ensuite very clean and fresh. Breakfast was lovely but no vegan milk. Would definitely stay here again.
