  • I took this in March in Sintra, Portugal! It's at the fairy tale castle Pena Palace :). This is one of the lovely close-up views. It's is a Romanticist castle that stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains. And undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Portugal. And a dream come true to visit it! It is a national monument and constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. It is also used for state occasions by the President of the Portuguese Republic and other government officials. Thanks to Wikipedia for help ;).

A lovely boutique hotel in Sintra. Very nice, quiet, and comfortable rooms. The included breakfast was basic, but having it included was a good value. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

I absolutely loved Rosegarden House. It was a magical, charming, and delightful stay. Manuel and Jessica were especially helpful, kind, and friendly. The room was cozy, comfortable, and I slept extremely well. The library and the pool were a lovely amenties and the breakfast was delicious. I hope to come back soon!

Beautiful & Chic B&B

Loved our one night stay in Sintra at this B&B. It’s adorable and tastefully decorated. Comfortable rooms and appreciated the included breakfast. Definitely recommend. The property is gated which is great on one hand but if you arrive early it might be a little harder to speak to someone if you have questions. But otherwise, once you are in it’s great! Very happy with our stay and would come back!

This place is fantastic. Check-in was smooth, quick and friendly and our room was magnificent. No detail left untouched. Service was polite and prompt. Great staff who are very accommodating. This was a big splurge for us on our trip to Sintra, but you get what you pay for. Worth every penny. We will be talking about this place for a while! Thank you for having us!

Moldy room and musty smell!

Do not stay here! I stayed in the Grimaldi room and it stunk of a musty unbearable smell. I barely slept. There was evidence of mold in the rooms. If you google the hotel There are other sites where people had the same issue. It’s an absolute shame because the decor is beautifully done and the room was spacious and is in a quiet area away from the tourists. I woke up feeling groggy and unwell from the mold. Stay away at all costs!

A super hotel

We had a super stay. The hotel was really quite special from a positive point of view. The only thing we were missing were some more hooks to hang eg wet towels. There were only two hooks in the entire suite. For people with some difficulties to move around it might be good to know that there are some little stairs to navigate. We were served a really nice breakfast with freshly prepared fruit salad for everyone in addition to freshly pressed orange. Fresh croissants in addition to the Portuguese specialty with vanilla cream cakes. All over absolutely super!

This place was absolutely charming with lots of characteristics!! We stayed 2 nights in the room 'Moon River'(queen size bed). The room was very clean, spacious and with lovely big windows. We appreciated the attention in the small details. Breakfast was great and met our needs (cold and hot options). The location was excellent and walking distance (15min) to old town of Sintra (keep in mind you're on a mountain so lots of hills/steep climbs). Plenty of free street parking in the "loop", but if theres a church service or such then parking can be challenging in the loop. I would absolutely go back to this place! We regret not staying one more night, there is so much to visit/see in Sintra with all the different Palaces and Heritage sites.

An absolute gem of a hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are beautifully appointed and location is on a very quiet cobbled square walking distance from the historic center but having some lovely restaurants right in its neighborhood. We sat in the evening in their beautiful living room and had drinks from the honor bar and in the morning ate a lovely breakfast served by a charming hostess. We could have done with a friendlier welcome from the woman who checked us in but otherwise loved our stay. Notes to visitors: all walking is very steep in Sintra, not a gentle stroll; the hotel has no parking but there is a open lot in the square about 2 blocks away (maybe 2-300m), if you don’t fancy steep hikes up and down to town or train, Uber is very accessible and quite reasonable.

Deilige rom med god plass. Veldig gode senger. Koselig frokostrom med enkel og grei frokost. Kort vei til Sinatra. Flere restauranter i nærheten. Kort vei både til Lisboa og til Cascais med Uber. Det eneste var at de kunne gjorde mere ut av uteområdet, litt koseligere, frokost ute etc!

Charmant petit hôtel à la déco soignée

Charmant petit hôtel récent et très propre en hauteur de la vieille ville de Sintra et à 15 minutes à pied du Pena Palace. La décoration des chambres est soignée et offre une atmosphère romantique. Excellente literie. Nous n’avons par contre pas été fans de la porte des toilettes en verre dépoli qui sépare mal la chambre des WC. Joli salon bibliothèque feutré et très agréable pour se poser en fin de journée. Nous n’avons malheureusement pas pu profiter de petite piscine car température trop fraiche. Possibilité de se garer sur la petite place où se situe l’hôtel.

The worst hotel stay ever. The staff was very poorly trained from the moment we arrived without a friendly smile or help with luggage to zero knowledge of how to access the pena palace after much email contact beforehand. We waited 25 minutes in pouring rain for a bus that never came and finally got a taxi directly to the entrance which the staff failed to tell us existed. They also insisted there was no shuttle bus in the park to access the palace to avoid very wet slippery cobble stones BUT THERE IS! i can't imagine less helpful staff. The room was ok but AVOID THIS ACCOMMODATION AT COSTS.

Romantisk weekend

Fantastiskt hotell, bland det mest romantiska vi besökt! Rekommenderas för par utan barn, då miljön var oerhört lugn pch avslappnad. Fick ett fantastiskt mottagande vid ankomsten, med visning av hotellet. Frukosten serverades vid bordet av oerhört vänlig personal, rejäl och vackert upplagd. Rekommenderar morgonpromenad i bergen bakom byn, vilken utsikt!
